Our Wedding

How We Met

Zach and Sarah met online through the online dating app Hinge on March 20th, 2024. Sarah kicked things off by sending Zach a digital rose on the app. The two quickly hit it off and began exchanging messages. After a month of regular contact, the two decided to meet up.

Our First Date

Their first date was on April 27th, 2024. The initial plan for their first date was for the two to meet at the Holyoke Mall at the Round1 Bowling Alley and then grab dinner after they'd finished bowling. That plan went right out the window when Zach arrived and realized how oppressively loud it was inside, between the music, arcade machines, and the alley, itself. It was far too loud for any manner of conversation.

Instead of bowling, the two grabbed dinner at 110 Grill. After their meal, they decided to go for a walk around the mall. They didn't really go into many of the stores or actually go shopping. They just walked and talked to each other for hours. They only parted company once the mall started closing down.

Proposal

Zach's initial plans to propose revolved around the one year anniversaries of important dates in their relationship. For one reason or another, the timing never seemed to work out. One major factor was that Sarah had suggested months prior that she'd like for her family to be around when Zach proposed. Getting everyone's schedules to line up proved difficult. When all of the dates of sentimental significance didn't work out, Lynn (Sarah's Mother) suggested that Zach propose during the planned cruise to Bermuda in June. Sarah's parents (Roy and Lynn), sister (Sam), brother-in-law (Kory), nephew (Emmitt), and a whole host of family friends would be in attendance on that cruise, so it seemed like an ideal time.

As the timing solidified, so did the means by which Zach would propose. The plan was for Lynn to suggest the group go for a walk around the ship after they'd finished dinner on the first night aboard ship. Zach would start an seemingly unrelated conversation topic as a signal to the group of what was going to happen. He'd arranged with Kory to get his camera ready to record once he gave the signal. Zach recruited Johnny (a family friend of Sarah's) to help segue into the proposal. Things were going as planned. The whole group was on a walk around the ship, they were in a quiet corner with a nice view, it was the perfect time and place to propose. Zach even began to give the signal for things to start. Sarah had other ideas, though. Not quite sure why the group was milling about in a dead-end corner of the ship with nothing to do, she declared that she was cold and walked away towards a more populated and warmer part of the ship before Zach ever had a chance to propose.

Now, Zach, Roy, Johnny, and the rest had to find a way to steer the group back to some other quiet corner without being suspicious about it. Having arrived at the duty free section of the ship, the group spent a little bit of time looking around before Roy diverted the group back to a good place for Zach to make another attempt. Zach gave the signal, Kory and Lynn started filming, Johnny delivered his lines, and Zach began his proposal. She was taken completely by surprise. If the existence of this website wasn't indication enough, she said "Yes".

Our Story

As my younger sister, Samantha has been by my side for nearly my whole life. From our ski trips together, to our yearly summer adventures in Maine, to cheering me on at sports, and being there for me at graduations, she’s supported me through it all and will continue to do so at my side on my wedding day. Even though our personalities are completely opposite from one another, we often finish each other’s sentences and know what the other is thinking without having to say a word. Samantha has always looked out for me, aside from the time she crashed into me on the slopes while I tried to stop her from sliding down the mountain. She’s one of the most caring, giving, and loving people I know, and I couldn’t imagine my special day without her.

Samantha Beaudoin-Kibler

Jess and I met while we were both students at American International College. We made so many great memories there together and I’ll cherish every single one of them for the rest of my life, from our regular evening dinners at the dining commons, to our late night study sessions at WNEC, and even our trips to Blockbuster to pick up a rental for movie night (back when we all still used DVDs, remember those? Haha). She even tolerated me as a roommate. Those college years flew by, but the friendship we built and the times we shared will be with us forever. Jess is one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and upbeat people I know. I’m honored to call her my friend and that she’ll be by my side supporting me on my wedding day

Jessica Alford

Although they had met previously through youth activities or church-related events, Joe and Zach became friends during their freshman year of high school in the Fall of 2005. As they were both in the honors program at Ludlow High, they shared many of the same classes together, including first period Western Civilization, where their friendship first started to develop. They shared many interests, including Star Trek and Lord of the Rings, but the core of their initial association revolved around politics. They, along with several others in their friend group, founded a mock political party named the American Conservative Party and regularly held meetings for it in the town hall. Later, in the summer of 2007, the two attended the Lead America youth leadership conference in Washington, D.C. during together. They remained close friends throughout high school and college, during which time Zach served as Joe’s Best Man when Joe married Kathleen in 2013. It was Joe who took Zach to his first Latin Mass on Palm Sunday in 2017. Since both graduated, they’ve remained close, despite Joe’s work taking him to Marian University in Indiana, where he presently serves as the Chair of the Philosophy Department and as Professor of Philosophy.  Joe and Kathleen have two children together, Oliver (6) and Audrey (4), and Zach was named godfather to the both of them.

Joseph Gamache

Zach first met Ethan January 13th, 1994 at Baystate Medical Center. Ethan, having just recently been born, did not have over much to say at their first meeting. As one might expect with siblings, the two spent a great deal of time together growing up, from trying to figure out the NES and Sega Genesis in their bedroom when they were young, to learning to gamble with their grandmother, to weekly summer excursions with their grandfather, to just hanging around home.  Ethan was always tinkering and building things, so it was a surprise to no one when he elected to pursue an education in engineering.  As the two went off to college, the normal frictions that exist between siblings melted away and the relationship between the two strengthened and matured.  While they do not get to see each other as frequently as when they were younger, Zach routinely looks forward to Ethan’s visits, both because it is a chance to see his brother, but also because it is a chance to see Nora and Nicholas, Zach's niece and nephew. Ethan lives in the Worcester area with his wife, Melissa, and with Nora and Nicholas. Ethan currently works as the Principal R&D Mechanical Engineer for Cytiva.

Ethan Barrieau

Zach met Dan in Fall of 2010, at the start of Zach’s sophomore year and of Dan’s freshman year of pharmacy school. Both lived on the same floor of the dorm at MCP. Zach and Dan’s interests were remarkably similar, ranging from science fiction and fantasy, D&D, Magic the Gathering, video games, and other such typically geeky hobbies. Together, along with Kris Connor and Vaughn Youngblood, they formed a tight friends group that remained together for the remainder of their time at MCP. The two remained in contact after graduation and frequently commiserated over the challenges and frustrations of working in retail pharmacy. Dan currently lives in the Worcester area with his wife Domi and the two are expecting the birth of their first born in mid 2026. Dan currently serves as a clinical pharmacist for the federal prison system.

Daniel Buffum

Zach and Bob first met in a D&D group in 2016 and they’ve been pretty consistently playing with each other since then. Most of that time together was spent in games written and run by Zach, where Bob’s inventiveness, problem solving abilities, and vast memory for rules very frequently pushed Zach’s games to their breaking point. Given Bob's law and engineering background, it really shouldn't be surprising that he was so formidable a player. Currently, the two are playing together in games run by someone else, so Zach frequently benefits from Bob's skills, rather than having to contest them.  In recent years, Bob took Zach deep sea fishing and Zach took Bob skiing. As it turns out, Bob was a much better skier than Zach was a fisherman. Bob currently lives in New York City, where he works as a patent lawyer for the #1 ranked law firm in the country.

Union Station Trolley

The Union Station Trolley will be made available to to wedding guests residing at the Fairfield Inn for transport to Our Lady of the Valley. On July 4th, the trolley will depart from the inn promptly at 12:15pm for the wedding ceremony at Our Lady of the Valley. The maximum capacity of the trolley is 30 occupants. After the wedding concludes, the trolley will transport guests from Our Lady of the Valley to Union Station for the reception. The trolley will make three trips back to the Fairfield Inn throughout the reception. The scheduled departure times from Union Station are 7:30pm, 8:30pm and one final trip at the conclusion of the after party at 10pm.

Our Registry

The pleasure of your company at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. Should you wish to extend your generosity, we would sincerely appreciate a contribution toward our honeymoon in Italy, as we are fortunate to already have an established household.

Our Itinerary

Our honeymoon will start at the Hotel Le Agavi in Positano, Italy. Situated on the Amalfi Coast, it will offer us the chance to relax by the beach after all the excitement involved in preparing for our wedding.

Next, we'll take a train to Rome, where we intend to tour the Vatican. Staying at the Crowne Plaza, we will take a private guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican Museums and will also take a tour focused on early Christian history in Rome, including a pilgrimage to the Holy Stairs.

Finally, we'll take a train from Rome to Venice where we'll stay at the JW Marriott. We plan to explore the city, share a romantic gondola ride, and then conclude our honeymoon with a tranquil day at the spa before our long flight home.

If the gift you generously choose to give is or includes a check, we respectfully requests that it be made out to either Zachary Barrieau or Sarah Beaudoin and further ask that it not be written out to Mr. and Mrs. Zachary Barrieau or to Zachary &amp; Sarah Barrieau. While we understand the romantic appeal, the realities of banking make the situation a bit more complicated. Without a wedding certificate or Sarah changing her name (either of which take weeks), we would be unable to deposit checks written that way prior to our flight. As we will be leaving for our honeymoon the Monday directly following the wedding, it would be a supreme convenience to be able to deposit them prior to leaving the country.

As you enter the Union Station parking lot, you will take a ticket but you will NOT need to pay. (You do NOT need to bring the ticket with you into the reception) When you leave the reception, you can obtain a validation ticket to exit the parking lot.

There is handicap parking and a ramp to the right of the main stairs to enter the reception hall.

After party will be held from 9-10pm in the Roosevelt Lounge(where the cocktail hour was).
